Natura Foundation and Strategic Partners of the US Embassy in Panama continue with the GLOBE Project from Chagres National Park

A Firm Commitment to Environmental Education and Environmental Preservation

Location: Chagres National Park

The Natura Foundation, in collaboration with strategic partners from the United States Embassy in Panama, is pleased to announce the continuation of the GLOBE project from the majestic Chagres National Park. This project, dedicated to the promotion of environmental education and environmental conservation, has brought together a team of committed professionals who are working tirelessly to make a difference in the heart of Panamanian nature.

In an exciting launch event, the following leaders played a critical role in the commitment and continued success of the project:
Alvin Alzamora, Project Manager at Fundación Natura: Alzamora has stood out as a passionate advocate for environmental preservation and is a pillar in the leadership of Fundación Natura.

Nikki Grant-Hoffman, Science Coordinator and Ecologist, Federal Government Science and Ecology Coordinator at the Department of the Interior under the Bureau of Land Management (BLM): Grant-Hoffman brings deep experience in environmental sciences and an international perspective to the project.

Pamela Zúñiga, Environmental Coordinator representing the United States Government: Zúñiga brings with her the vision and commitment of the United States Government to address environmental challenges in Panama.

However, the highlight of this day was the exciting training provided to boys and girls aged 8 to 14 years. During the training, young people were taught how to identify mosquito larvae and the importance of detecting them in time to prevent diseases. With special assistance from Nikki Grant-Hoffman, participants used tools donated by the GLOBE program, allowing for an interactive and enriching educational experience.

This team of committed collaborators is determined to advance environmental education and the protection of Chagres National Park, a natural treasure of immense value. The alliance between Fundación Natura and the United States Embassy is an example of how international collaboration can have a lasting impact on environmental conservation and the promotion of ecological awareness.

The GLOBE project is a tangible example of how collective action can make a difference in the fight against climate change and the preservation of biodiversity.
